The Steel Thread Projects references a multitude of sources in order to document the actions of the 3/187th in the Republic of Vietnam. This includes: books; original US Army and US Government documents/records; interviews and conversations with Veterans and their families; personal collections of Veterans to include letters home, pictures and memorabilia as well as websites and other on-line research resources.

 

In July of 2023, The Steel Thread Project conducted research at the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, Maryland with plans to return. The documents scanned during the July research trip are being made available on this website in PDF format. We will be posting these documents as we continue to build this website.
