Speak Their Names
Bravo Company suffered the first 3/187th soldier killed in action on January 17, 1968. The final loss of life for the company (and the battalion) occurred on October 17, 1971.
This gallery is dedicated to the Bravo Company soldiers who did not make it home. They will not be forgotten.

3rd Platoon
Richardson, Gary
Gary Richardson deployed with the battalion in December of 1967. He served with Bravo Company, 3rd Platoon. Gary survived his tour and returned stateside in November of 1968.

Smith, R.C.
R.C. Smith deployed with the Advance Party in November of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served with Bravo Company, 3rd Platoon. R.C. Smith survived his tour and returned stateside in November of 1968.

2nd Platoon
Swope, David
David Swope deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served as 2nd Platoon Leader. In late April 1968 he was infused into MACV and completed his tour in IV Corps. David Swope survived his tour but passed away in 2018.
