Speak Their Names
Delta Company suffered their first soldier killed in action on March 18, 1968. The final loss of life for the company occurred on August 14, 1971.
This gallery is dedicated to the Delta Company soldiers who did not make it home. They will not be forgotten.

1967 - 1968
Delta Company
Jackson, Thomas
Thomas Jackson deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. Thomas was wounded in action in June of 1968, shortly after elements of 3rd Brigade were placed under the operational control of the 25th Infantry Division. Although Thomas, survived his tour in Vietnam, he passed away in early 2022.

Delta Company, 3rd Platoon
Sherrill, Jimmy
Gold Star Family
Jimmy Sherrill deployed to Vietnam with the Battalion in December of 1967. He served as a Platoon Leader with Delta Company, 3rd Platoon. Jimmy was killed in action on March 18/19, 1968 during Operation Box Springs/Operation Rakkasan Chaparral.
The photos are shared by his family who still love and miss Jimmy.

Delta Company, 2nd Platoon
Wishik, Jeffrey
Jeffrey Wishik deployed to Vietnam with the Battalion in December of 1967. He served initially as S-2 Air but the day after Christmas of 1967 he transferred to Delta Company, serving as Platoon Leader for 2nd Platoon. Jeffrey was severely WIA on March 18/19, 1968 during Operation Box Springs/Operation Rakkasan Chaparral. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his actions during the battle. After recovering from his wounds, Jeffrey became a helicopter pilot. He returned to Vietnam in June of 1970 and served as a Chinook Pilot, returning stateside in June of 1971. He retired from the US Army as a LTC.

Delta Company, 1st Platoon
Ballard, Mike
Mike arrived in Vietnam in March of 1968. He served with Delta Company as 1st Platoon Leader. Mike remained with the 3/187th through October of 1968 when he was transferred to MACV. After returning stateside, Mike joined the Seattle Police Force.

Robertson, Dennis
Dennis arrived in Vietnam in March of 1968. He served with Delta Company as a RTO. Dennis returned stateside in March of 1969. Dennis survived his tour but passed away in 2022.

Delta Company, 2nd Platoon
Fike, Bradley
Bradley arrived in Vietnam in August of 1969. He served with Delta Company, 2nd Platoon. Bradley remained with the 3/187th through August of 1970 when he returned stateside. Bradley passed away in 2020.
